We look forward to seeing you
Ladies Circle
The Ladies Circle meets fortnightly on alternate Fridays, commencing at 8 p.m. during the months September - May. This is an extremely active group and is thriving and attracting new people. The format it takes is either a speaker, demonstration or social events. This is an open meeting (Men are invited).
The Ladies Circle also has regular coffee mornings, usually on a Thursday, throughout the year. They are held at different homes of members and this encourages friends and neighbours from other parts of the area into our fellowship and through this event we gain new members. It is also a good way of keeping everyone together when our meetings finish in May.
Offerton Methodist Choir
The choir meets on Monday evenings for rehearsal and although originally made up of members of the church, it now encompasses a number of people from the local area. The choir covers a wide variety of music and travels within the local area and beyond, performing at many varied functions throughout the year and carrying the name of Offerton Methodist Church far and wide. Many of the concerts events at which the choir performs are to help raise monies for charities or people's own churches. The choir is in attendance at the special services of the church e.g. Church Anniversary, Harvest, Christmas, etc. and also stages events of its own within the church to help support the church in monetary terms..
Bible Study/ Discussion Group/ House Group
A “prayer and chat” group meets regularly at the home of a member - Mrs Mavis Richards - and everyone is welcome.
Working Party
This is a small group of men (and sometimes women) who give their time by way of doing minor repairs, painting, gardening, etc. thus keeping down costs of the upkeep of the building. Meets as and when required on a Saturday morning,
Family Service
Held on the first Sunday of the month. After this service, coffee and biscuits are served in the schoolroom by volunteers.
Special Events Committee
This is a body of people made up from members/associates of the church and organises a variety of "Special Events" throughout the year e.g. theme dinners, quiz nights, concerts, fashion shows and the church fair. The monies raised help to maintain and update the church's needs and provide some of the extra special items it may require from time to time, as well as promoting a spirit of community within the church and neighbourhood.
Rotas
Provision of flowers and door steward duties are undertaken throughout the year by members of the church.
